#850 – Fishers Of Men

Good morning people who live to serve others

Matthew 4:18-22 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” At once they left their nets and followed Him. Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed Him.

Jesus said to his disciples, “I will make you fishers of men”. He says it to each of us today also.

Jesus doesn’t promise to make us great, famous, wealthy or successful by human measurements. He does however promise to make us fishers of men. This is His desire for us; all of us.

There is something in God’s heart about investing in and living for the lives of others. When we catch His heart, this will become our heart’s desire also.

When you catch a fish, you take it from one environment and put it into another.

This is our calling: to shift people’s environment. We are to see people transplanted from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. We are privileged and very blessed to be a part of this holy calling: to be fishers of men.

Would you join me today in asking God to help us live our lives for others and to see people’s environment changed? Would you join me in asking God to make us fishers of men?
