Good morning with a right perspective in prayer

We’re looking at Jesus’ instruction on how to pray. Firstly He instructs us to pray to the Father. Secondly He lets us know our perspective is important.

Luke 11:2-4 He said to them, “When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’”

Once the Father is acknowledged, Jesus tells us to say hallowed be Your name to the Father. Why does He use these words? Is it the words themselves or what is taking place that is important?

I believe there is an establishing of a right foundation for prayer here and an opportunity for us to get into a place of faith.

The Father resides in heaven and focusing on Him and His Majesty as we start to pray lifts up our eyes from the reality of our difficulty to the truth of His Supremacy. Starting prayer this way shifts our perspective and focus and faith has the opportunity to activate.
