#981 – Strong Roots

Good morning people who guard their hearts

A couple days ago we looked at people who hear the Word of God but the enemy is blinding their eyes from receiving the truth of it. We need to pray for them that they may see truth clearly; there is a need for revelation.

The second type of ground that the seed of God’s Word can be planted on is rocky ground.

Luke 8:13 Those on the rock are the ones who receive the Word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.

It’s great to receive God’s Word with joy but we need to allow the Word to penetrate below the surface and take root. A natural seed that has the potential to produce great fruit within it, will remain fruitless unless it takes root.

The evidence of whether the seed of God’s Word has taken root is not in the good times but in the difficult times. It’s easy to trust when things are going well.

But how do we respond during times of testing?

I believe that meditation on God’s Word is necessary for the seed of God’s Word to take root. Meditation, in other words, focused thinking
