#1141 – Leaders Give

Good morning people with a right motivation

Acts 4:33-35 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.

Today’s BIY does not always apply to personal giving, but it will apply to most of us, if not all of us, at times.

There are times when our giving is personal and we direct where it goes. God might prompt you to give to a certain person at a certain time. If He does, do it immediately and joyfully – you will be a blessing!

At other times, we give to someone else to distribute to those in need. I’m specifically talking about giving within the context of Church now.

In the passage above, people gave to the apostles and the apostles distributed that which was given. They assessed what the needs were and they gave to meet the needs.

There will be times your Church asks people to give generously. I encourage you to be a part of this blessing.

But give and let go.

I love this simple thought that people gave to the apostolic leaders so they could meet the needs which were considered most important. People gave with no demands on where their giving went.

Lets not be ones who give with conditions – you must use it for ’this’ or for ’that’. Let’s not give with strings attached.

Let’s give generously and empower those who distribute the funds to do so to the best of their ability.
