#1286 – God’s Intention

Good morning people with clear promises from God,

Number 13:1-2 The Lord said to Moses, “Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders.”

I think this verse is a word for some of you today.

God sent out the Israelite leaders (the twelve spies) to check out the land He was giving to them. It wasn’t to see if they could take it; God was giving it to them.

The purpose of this trip was to see what God was going to give to them. This should have been a faith trip. This should have been approached with anticipation.

Why?

Because God had made His intention clear: this is the land I am giving to you.

WOW! What a promise!!!

Yet ten of the Israelite leaders went with the wrong focus; they went with a lack of faith – they went with a question of God’s intention in their hearts. They did not focus on the promise of God but on the perceived obstacles they saw with their natural sight.

Only two of the Israelite leaders went with anticipation of what God had already promised to give them – they went with a promise of God’s intention in their hearts.

So, when God gives you a promise and asks you to go and check things out, how do you go?
