Good morning people who anticipate breakthroughs,

Acts 12:5,12-16 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him… Peter knocked at the outer entrance, and a servant named Rhoda came to answer the door. When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, “Peter is at the door!”  “You’re out of your mind,” they told her. When she kept insisting that it was so, they said, “It must be his angel.” But Peter kept on knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished.  

Here are people of God, gathered together, praying for a miracle…and then they are astonished and in unbelief when God answers their prayers.

Sounds like some of us many of the times if we’re honest.

What is our response when God answers our impossible prayers? Are we surprised and astonished or did we truly expect an answer in the form of a miracle?

Why do we pray? Do we pray because we should and it’s the right thing to do? Or do we pray because we believe God will do what we ask?

Permit me to be really honest today: Many times I pray with an element of faith, but it’s often mixed in with plenty of expectation that nothing much will happen. I don’t want to pray like this anymore.

I want to pray believing. I also want to pray receiving!
