#5468 – By the Blood

Good morning people who are privileged to live because of the shed blood of Jesus.

Leviticus 8:30 NIV Then Moses took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood from the altar and sprinkled them on Aaron and his garments and on his sons and their garments. So he consecrated Aaron and his garments and his sons and their garments.

In the old covenant, the priests were consecrated through the sprinkling of blood on them – yuck!

In the new covenant, the blood of Jesus Christ purchased our atonement and makes us holy before God!

I encourage you to read through the book of Hebrews. It is rich with profound truth about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

For today, I want to share just a few verses.

Hebrews 10:11-14 NIV Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Revelation 12:10-11 NIV Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”

The blood of Jesus Christ changes everything!
