#765 – Unto The Lord

Good morning people who treat leaders correctly

I believe there is power in submission to authority that we often don’t understand. I also believe that we often end up sinning against leaders when we start to grumble and complain. But we need to understand the Biblical reason why.

Exodus 16:8 Moses also said, “You will know that it was the Lord when He gives you meat to eat in the evening and all the bread you want in the morning, because He has heard your grumbling against Him. Who are we? You are not grumbling against us, but against the Lord.”

The children of Israel were grumbling against Moses and Aaron but Moses spoke the truth that complaining against them was complaining against God.

There have been many abuses by those in a leadership position that has resulted in a reaction the other way. Both extremes are wrong and a healthy understanding of leadership and submission is essential to living a God-honouring life.

For those in leadership, we need to lead in love. We need to treat people how Jesus would. We are to serve people and not lord it over them. We are to live out of a revelation of the Father’s heart for all humanity.

For those under authority, we need to submit to people in the same way we submit to God. We need to understand the Biblical benefit of submission is not control but protection. We need to be careful not to complain against those God has appointed.

I pray we all honour each other in the same way God honours us.
