#937 – Always Present

Good morning people who God never leaves

Mark 4:35-41 That day when evening came, He said to His disciples, “Let us go to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took Him along, just as He was, in the boat. There were also other boats with Him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, don’t You care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to His disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey Him!”

Jesus always goes with us when He gives us directions.

Do you believe that God is always with you? How about when it is dark and lonely? How about when it is wet and windy? How about when it seems impossible? How about when you feel like you can’t go on?

This belief that Jesus never leaves us or forsakes us is an anchor to us all in the storms and dark times of life. An anchor holds us steady…when the winds are blowing and the waves are crashing. There is little need for an anchor when everything is calm.

Listen to what David wrote in the Psalms.

Psalm 139:7-10 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.
