Good morning people who steward God’s gift of time as the miracle that it is.

What do you do in your spare time?

What do you do in your free time?

The truth is, no one owns time but God.

Therefore, statements like “my time” and “your time”, “spare time” and “free time” are not accurate statements.

This is important to know because it is what will motivate us to use God’s gift of time wisely.

We most certainly can waste time, and I want to encourage us at the beginning of a new year to be deliberate about to not wasting a moment of God’s precious gift of time.

To be clear, this does not mean that we can’t relax and rest. Many of us are on holidays right now. This is wonderful and this is necessary.

But this truth is still as relevant and real for holidays as it is for work. God is still the God of our lives, our passions and our love, even on holidays.

So, yes, let’s rest and relax and be refreshed, but let’s do so still honouring every moment as a gift from God.

Let’s be Spirit-led in our rest, and let’s purpose to rest in God, and not just relax from work.
