#5482 – Full of Joy

Good morning people who are baptised in the Holy Spirit to the point of evidence.

Luke 10:21 NIV At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.”

Such a simple little statement that is often overlooked because we just focus on the words that Jesus said. But today, let’s sit in these few highlighted words.

Jesus was full of joy. This was not natural happiness that was based on circumstances going well. Our joy is not to be contingent on this either.

Jesus was full of joy through the Holy Spirit!

We know that the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus at His baptism. We also know that Jesus was led by the Spirit and ministered in the power of the Holy Spirit. We cannot separate Jesus’ life and ministry from the person and work of the Holy Spirit.

Nor can we separate Jesus’ joy from the Holy Spirit. And we can’t separate our joy from Him.

It should be no surprise that there has been lots of deep joy and laughter in revivals when the Holy Spirit has been poured out. And yet it is this manifestation that has often been attacked by many believers. In fact, some have concluded that a revival is false because of the expressive joy! I hope you can see how ludicrous this is!

Why is it that believers who have no joy feel they need to attack those who do?

It’s time for joy to be restored to the church! It’s time for joy to be restored to the people of God! It’s time for the evidence of the Holy Spirit through the joy of the Lord to be a mark of every believer!

This is Bible. This is truth. This is right.
