Good morning people who overcome the enemy through God’s protection and your connection.
Psalms 27:5-6 NIV For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord.
The context of these two verses is the previous couple of days devotion, where we talked about gazing upon the beauty of the Lord and seeking God in His temple. Yes, there is the personal, but there is also the corporate.
I believe that we have greater personal protection when we are connected into God’s house.
In the day of trouble, we can walk more confidently when we are not walking alone. Yes, it is God Himself who is our shelter and our strength, but many times He manifests this through other believers. Bear one another’s burdens is done best when we live in community and fellowship with others who are beholding God’s beauty and seeking His face.
Part of the protection that comes from our connection to God and to other believers is protection for our minds.
The enemy would love to surround God’s people, including in our minds. He attacks through fiery darts, and he loves to stir up wrong thinking. He loves to make things look hopeless. Fighting this alone is a difficult battle to fight.
But together, with a focus on God, we can rise above our enemies who surround us!
Part of this right focus is offering a sacrifice of praise, including shouts of joy and songs of worship to our God. There is something about lifting our voices with other believers that can literally shift the environment over our lives. What comes out of our mouth can shift what’s happening in our minds, especially when it is glorifying God. I am not saying everything will be easy, but it is better together. We need each other, we really do.
