Good morning people who go to the Lord to receive His divinely given keys.

Matthew 16:18-19 NIV “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

The church of Jesus cannot be separated from the kingdom of God. It’s not possible. The rule of God is clearly seen in the church that Jesus is building. This is true on an individual level and on a body level. Jesus is building people.

When God builds His church – the people of God – the gates of Hades (Hell) will not overcome it! This is the most wonderful news! The devil can’t win when Jesus is building our lives!

One of the ways that God is building us into a victorious people is through giving us the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and it is this that I want to lean into as we walk towards 2025.

Keys are given to us by another person.

Jesus said, “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” This is so important.

We can’t “come up with” keys that help us live an overcoming life that honours God. Our best efforts will always be insufficient. Our greatest strategies will fall short. Our intelligence will fail us and let us down. Our ways cannot set us up to live for the glory of God.

God is the Author of our life and God is the Author of the keys of the kingdom of heaven. God alone knows what works against the gates of hell. God knows what destroys the power of darkness. God knows what advances His will on earth as it is in heaven.

Therefore, we must go to God to receive the keys that He is wanting to give to every believer. Please know that this is His desire for you! He is not withholding His delegated authority – He just has a way of doing things that cannot be violated.
